Betway Power vs JKL Dolphins
Five time champions Betway Power will today face off with struggling JKL dolphins in the Men’s National Basketball league at 8pm in Lugogo’s MTN indoor Arena.
Newly promoted side, JKL dolphins have only won twice in their 7 league games so far, and are on a 3 game losing streak having fallen victims to Our Saviour, UCU cannons and Tomahswks consecutively.
JKL’s coach Boniface Okello will hope that Norman Blick will rise to the occassion to fire past his former employers.
Veteran player Blick who joined JKL in a controversial move from KIU Titans looked a shadow of himself against UPDF Tomahawks scoring only 2 points in a 64-61 defeat.
On the other hand, Power’s impressive run has seen them defeat City Oilers, UCU cannons, Falcons and Sharing Youth consecutively before a 66-72 painfull loss against Pemba Warriors.
The team returned to winning ways even when they missed their team captain Joseph Ikong in their last game with a 79-73 win against Our Saviour with both Isaac Afidra and Michael Makiadi notching in 17 points each to add on Paul Odong’s 21.
Power who last won the championship way back in 2011 expects nothing but a win in tonight’s encounter.
