Uganda’s U21 netball side suffered a 37-39 loss against Fiji in the Quarter finals of the ongoing World Netball Youth Cup in Gaborane, Botswana.
In a closely contested affair, both teams were level with the score reading 17-17 at the end of the first quarter.
Uganda at one stage led by a 5 goal margin but Fiji managed to level matters at different stages before pulling away in the last seconds of the game.
The defeat dented Uganda’s chance of reaching the semifinals of the tournament after the team had put up impressive displays that saw them lose one group stage game against Jamaica.
What next for Uganda?
The girls will today, Friday July 14 face off with South Africa in a placement fixture series that will determine who finish in 5th place.
Fiji will face New Zealand and Australia who humiliated Scotland will play England in the other semifinal.
