Kibuli SS 3-2 Upper High
Enterprising midfieder Allan Okello proved his worth with a hattrick as Kibuli Ss began the East Africa Secondary schools tournament on a high.
The crafty midfielder who plays for Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC proved his worth to hand Kibuli a perfect start.
In the game played at Gulu High school on Saturday, Okello registered the first hat trick of the tournament as Kibuli defeated Upper Hill School from Kenya.
Kibuli started on a poor note and went down in the opening stages of the game. However, Allan Okello responded quickly with a simple tap in off Julius Poloto’s ground cross.
Moments later, Kibuli S. S. S had the chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty but striker Mansour Ogwel fired into the goalkeeper’s hands.
Okello went on rampage in the second half scoring two more goals to complete his hattrick.
The Kenyan side added the second goal towards the end but Kibuli held on to claim maximum points.
Earlier on, St.Joseph’s Layibi defeated College Karambi (from Rwanda) 2-0.
In girls football, Kawempe Muslim drew goalless against Alliance High school from Tanzania, while Uganda Martyrs High School Rubaga edged Gadhafi Integrated. 1-0 in an all-Ugandan affair.
