Online betting company Betway Monday renewed their sponsorship package to Onduparaka Football club to the tune of Shs600 million for a period of one year.
Club’s top striker Mohamed ‘Jagarson’ Shaban, the reigning FUFA player of the year has expressed his delight for the new deal: “As a club we are very happy and would like to thank Betway for their support.”
“It is not easy to play without a sponsor and now I believe that this new deal is going to cater for our Transportation, accommodation and many other things,” he added.
The striker scored 13 goals to help the Caterpillars finish 5th last season with 45 points in their maiden campaign in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
Onduparaka FC will start this upcoming campaign with Rashid Toha as the new captain after Shaban was stripped off the armband ahead of the speculative move to KCCA FC.
The striker seems not bothered and he has vowed to produce the best for his club: “Personally, I am ready for the new season, and I believe we are going to put up a big challenge come next season.”
Onduparaka will kick off their Azam Uganda Premier league season with a home tie against Proline FC on September 12 before a trip to Luzira to play Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons 4 days later.
