Newly promoted side Mbarara City Football club have registered a landmark success yet again as they prepare to play in the top tier league.
After earning promotion to the Azam Uganda Premier League in May this year, the club have unveiled a shirt sponsorship package for the season 2017/18.
The deal from Top Bet Uganda is worth Shs200 million and will run for one year (2017/18 season).
While unveiling the package at Kati Kati restaurant in Kampala on Thursday, Harold Wanyama the legal manager Top Bet who represented the company indicated they share same ambitions with the club.
“We are proud to partner with Mbarara FC. They are stronghold name in the Western region and we share the same ambitions of being community based,” he said.
The package will cater for players’ allowances, salaries and branding among others.
Club President, Mwiine Mpaka who is also the Member of Parliament for youth in Western region believes the deal will help the club in transforming into a better team.
“We appreciate the support from Top Bet and as a club; we believe the sponsorship will only make us a better team. We promise to keep the marriage and hope for better things in future,” Mpaka noted.
The Ankole Lions won promotion to the Azam Uganda Premier League aftrr winning a Fufa Big League playoff game against Synergy.
Their first game in the league will be against BUL FC at Kakindu stadium in Jinja on September 12th.
