Being a sports fan is a complex matter, but it can also be a relief from the seriousness of the real world, with its unending pressures and often grave obligations.
Uganda top flight football division, the Azam Uganda Premier League kicks off today Tuesday with plenty of action across the country.
The wait has been long; everything is on set as Fans get ready to cheer on their favorite players and clubs.
Here are the opinions we collected from the most notable fans as far as their expectations are concerned.
Remmy Villa
SC Villa will put up a very good performance this season and we have lots of hope to attain this season’s trophy because we have got a very good coach, players and not forgetting our new captain Bernard Muwanga. He is a true definition of a good leader.
Even our President Eng. Ben Misagga is always ready to finance the team.
Ritah Tsirize
KCCA will really fight hard to defend the trophies, only that I am not so sure about our signing; I just hope for the best; basing on the fact that we have the best tactician in our coach.
Joan Nakawunde
I think the contest is going to be between Vipers and SC Villa because both teams have recruited very well. But at the end of the day, My Vipers will triumph.
Rachael Kemigisha
According to me, Express of this season is going to be the worst in all express teams I have ever watched because they sold out key players which they didn’t replace.
For instance, Coach Matia Lule left and this business of giving the players 2 months contracts and some not contracted at all, plus players not being paid their salary. But I won’t it take as a big problem because it is faced by many clubs in Uganda.
Allen Violet Nabagereka
I see Express FC winning a double this season; we are taking both the League and Uganda (Kakungulu) Cup. We have signed experienced players like Bengo and Mzee Dan who will give us a competitive edge.
Other Fans
Patrick Taremwa: Vipers looks like a prepared side but results have not been so impressive in the preseason friendlies, I tip KCCA FC to win it.
Julius Amanya: I don’t see Mbarara City FC playing well, so I think they will be relegated.
Mathias Musoke: KCCA FC will have to battle with Vipers SC for the Championship, Express and Villa are just title Contenders.
Josh Kieran: Vipers and Villa without doubt are the teams to beat, they have done good in the market.
Francis Birungi: The Red Eagles (Express FC) is going to compete seriously this season…namutima.
Keith Kisembo: SC Villa will start well then self-destruct with off pitch issues.
Frank Kabuye: Competition will be between KCCA and Vipers, though am an Express FC fan.
Umar Kabanda: We are winning two trophies this season; It’s a double loading for Express FC
