Vipers vs BUL FC
St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende
Friday, 15th September 2017
Vipers Sports Club began their campaign on a rather note failing to go past 10 man Bright stars in Mwererwe.
This seemed to have been a wakeup call for manager Miguel Da Costa who indicated he has to improve on his attacking line.
And as the venoms host BUL FC on Friday, the target will be to try and earn all three points to hit the ground going.
Skipper Nicholas Wadada believes they have moved on from the stalemate in Mwererwe and the task against BUL FC is to pick a perfect result.
“Not the result we wanted against Bright stars but that’s now gone and tje focus is to make sure we get all three points against BUL today,” he said.
Midfielder Moses Waiswa is still side lined with an injury and thus will not feature today.
He is joined by winger Duncan Sseninde and Congolese forward Moussa Mbayi who picked a hamstring injury in training on Wednesday.
On the other hand, BUL FC comes into the game on the back of a goalless draw against newly promoted Mbarara City FC.
The realistic target will be to try and earn a positive result away from home.
Crespo Asiku who started on bench against Mbarara is expected to lead the line today.
Head to head
The two teams have met on twelve occasions in the league with Vipers winning six, BUL managing two wins while the other four encounters have ended in draws.
The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-1 win for Vipers away at Kakindu stadium.
Vipers have conceded just one goal against BUL FC at home. This came during the 2015/16 season while still hosting games in Buikwe.
Vipers are 13th on the table while BUL FC occupy 5th spot with both teams having one point apiece.
