Soana vs Bright Stars, 4:30 pm
Kavumba Recreation grounds will host its first 2017-2018 season game as Soana FC take on the visiting Bright Stars.
After going over like 8 months without getting paid, Bright Stars players received something to smile for after a recent partnership between their club and Honda’s Soltilo Uganda Ltd.
The Matugga based club come into this encounter at the back of a hard fought goalless draw with title favorites, SC Vipers, a game that saw the hosts play for over an hour with a man down.
Jimmy Kakooza famously known as Kachanga will miss this encounter after he received marching orders as early as the 13th minute from referee Denis Batte.
Shafic Bisaso’s Soana on the other hand, will like to resurrect with a victory at home following their opening day loss away in Masaka against record league winners SC Villa.
In the other game of the day, SC Vipers will play host to the visiting Jinja based club BUL FC at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Soana’s home record in the league last season was completely average.
At Kavumba Recreation Ground, Soana won 5, drew 5 and lost 5 of the 15 league games, scoring 17 and conceding 17.
Bright Stars’ only away win last season was a 2-1 victory at Wankulukuku against Lweza.
