Proline FC 0-1 Masavu FC

New League Entrants managed to put their recent problems aside to clinch a surprise victory against Mujib Kasule’s Proline FC.

Abraham Nduggwa scored the lone goal as the visitor’s got maximum points in a game that was played at Startimes Stadium in Lugogo.

The Entebbe based club had their league opener with Police FC called off because Masavu FC failed to produce the licenses of their players, and days later, the Club CEO reportedly resigned.

The victory against Proline who drew goalless in their league opener with Onduparaka FC, leaves Masavu FC with 3 points.

Proline FC now has just one point from 2 league games.

Major Highlights

Following a good run of play, Masavu FC got into the lead with Abraham Nduggwa slotting the ball past Saidi Keni.

With a keeper to beat, Dan Isiagi could have levelled matters but his loop was off the target.

Sam Tiyo Kintu could have got an equaliser for the hosts but his shot went just an inch wide as the first half ended 0-1.

Back in the second half, Proline had the best of the possession but the visitors created most of the clear cut chances.

Abraham Nduggwa could have doubled the lead for Masavu in the 50th minute but he headed wide Ivan Lubale’s delivery wide with Keeper Saidi Keni beaten.

Match Reactions

Proline FC Coach Mujib Kasule: “We conceded an early goal and we could not come back. We don’t have enough players, most of our players are not cleared, and others are injured so I used some of the players out of position.”

Masavu FC Coach Alex Gitta: “We needed an away win to set the pace. We played out a team that we knew are very comfortable with the ball so we had to employ tactics that would close them down.”

What next for both sides

On Tuesday, September 19 Masavu will take a trip to Kavumba Recreation Ground to face off with Shafic Bisaso’s Soana.

Proline will return to league action on Friday, September 22nd against Police FC in an away game at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
