Following his team’s one all draw with giants Sports Club Villa, Police FC Coach Abdullah Mubiru is not yet convinced with his team’s performance.

Speaking after the game at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Mubiru said: “We tried to utilize the ball though we did not do it fully as the way we wanted.

“We still have a lot of work to do because you can see that my team did not create too many scoring chances.”

Police managed to rally back and fought for their dear lives after they had gone a goal down against Wasswa Bbosa’s Villa with Hood Kawesa levelling matters for the Cops.

The point puts Police FC on top of the log with 4 points courtesy of a superior goal difference better than that of Onduparaka, Villa, Kirinya Jinja, Mbarara City FC and Vipers SC.

“The team did not defend well, we started poorly but this is our first competitive game of the league this season,” added Mubiru.

Police FC were awarded 3 boardroom points at the expense of Masavu FC after the latter failed to provide the players licenses in a game that was supposed to be played at Bugonga Fisheries in Entebbe.

Abdullah Mubiru started with a 4-2-3-1 system, with youngster Albert Mugisa given his league debut as he played with Juma Balinya and Yasin Mugume in the 3 player creative role that was responsible to feed Striker Norman Ojik.

Speaking about the debutant’s performance, Mubiru said: “Mugisa had a very good game; he is a talented kid although I expected him to have a more colorful debut.”

Police FC will return to league action on Friday September 22 against Mujib Kasule’s Proline FC at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

SC Villa on the other hand, has a tough trip to Kitende to play title favourites SC Vipers on Saturday September 23.
