Uganda’s National Netball team captain Peace Proscovia managed to win 3 accolades at the 2017 Goalden Globe Awards following her glamorous season with Loughborough Lightening.
The Former NIC player won the Player of the season Award, Players’ Player of the Season and also named in the All Star Team as the best Goal Shooter (GS).
The Arua born star took to one of her Social media platforms and posted: “Father I have nothing to say but to honour your name God and give you the glory for triple awards for it has not been by my powers but you.”
She added, “England netball thank you so much for not words can explain my gratitude for you. To all my sponsors loughborough lightning, loughborough university and gilbert netball and everyone that has contributed to my success not forgetting all my fans who have always been there for me thank you.”
Proscovia helped her Club Loughborough Lightening to cruise to the summit of the Super league table after the regular season before falling to Wasps Netball team by 51-55 in the Grand Finals which were held on Sunday June 11th in Birmingham.
Proscovia tore Super league defenders apart in the concluded season with her dominating performance in the circle and displayed her shooting prowess when she netted a whopping 812 goals.
On the player of the season gong, she beat her teammate Beth Cobden, Natalie Haythorthwaite (Wasps), Bongiwe Msomi (Wasps), Gabby Marshal and Layla Gusoth.
It should be remembered that Proscovia guided Netball Cranes to be crowned the African Netball Champions in June when the team defeated Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia in Lugogo as the Uganda Netball team received a spot at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
