City Oilers 92-50 Ndejje University

City Oilers picked maximum points with a 92-50 victory against Ndejje University Angels in a league game played at the MTN Arena in Lugogo.

Team Captain Jimmy Enabu led by example with the point guard collecting 16 points in a victorious effort as the defending Champions picked their 11th win of the season.

Having successfully defended their Zone Five title, there was no time to rest as normal business resumed for the league campaign.

Oilers did not play with Stanley Ocitti, Adarius Pegues, Robinson Opong and Jordin Mayers as the quadruple had been added to the team’s roster for the Zone Five campaign and not the league.

Mandy Juruni started with Tonny Drilleba, Stephen Omony, Daniel Jjuuko, Brian Ssentongo and Landry Ndikumana; the latter hit 7 points in the first 10 minutes as Oilers took a 19-11 first quarter lead.

With Ben Komakech, Geoffrey Omondi, James Okello and Jonah Otim all brought on, Oilers looked a force to reckon on as comfortably took a comfortable 18 point victory at the long break.

The side added 32 and 22 more points in the third and fourth quarter before sealing a 92-50 deserved victory against Walker Obedi’s University Angels.

It should be remembered that Ndejje had recorded a 77-74 victory against City Oilers in the first round of the National Basketball League.

Ndejje’s Innocent Ochera and Deng Maker reached 10 and 11 points respectively but their effort was not enough as the University side succumbed to their 7th defeat of the season.

Komakech (10), Ndikumana (12), Okello (12) and Omony (10) all reached double point figures for the victorious Oilers.

In the other games, Chris Omanye scored a game high 15 points to add on Sudi Ulanga and Collin Kasujja’s efforts who both scored 11 points apiece as Hamza Nyambogo’s KIU Titans swept aside Sharing Youth 86-30.

Our Saviour also defeated Nkumba Marines in the first game played on the day in the Men’s category.
