Uganda has improved by one slot in the latest world football rankings released by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
The monthly rankings released on Monday show that Uganda improved from 71st position to 70th place for the month of September.
Despite losing 1-0 to Egypt at the start of September, the points tally for the Cranes has risen from 486 to 503 points.
Egypt continues to be the most ranked team in Africa despite falling by five slots from 25th to 30th position.
Tunisia,Senegal, Congo DR and Nigeria complete the top five slots in Africa in that order.
World Cup reigning champions have returned to the summit of the ranking table dislodging Brazil who now drop to second.
Portugal are third, while Argentina and Belgium come 4th and 5th respectively.
In the CECAFA region, Uganda tops the shots like it has been the norm. Kenya comes second at 88th position, Rwanda are a distant 118th while Tanzania occupy 126th.
Burundi are 129th, Ethiopia have dropped to 144th position and South Sudan are 150th.
Cape Verde Islands have improved the most, rising by 47 slots up to 67th place.
