It is so far so good for Uganda’s lady footballer Joan Nakirya, who recently left the country for overseas football and studies in the United States of America.
Nakirya together with Sandra Nantumbwe who were playing for Uganda Football side Gafford Ladies FC flew to the States earlier in August this year.
The pair joined Redland Community College which is located in Oklahoma.
Nakirya has so far played for Redlands on 13 occasions (starting in all), and the player has scored 2 goals plus reserving time for an assist.
Speaking with the player, Nakirya exclusively told ChimpReports that all is well: “All is going well this way so far, am finding the environment fine.”
“I am actually loving the competition this way, and with time, I believe that I will fully rise to the top,” she added.
Nakirya has helped Redlands win 3 of their last 5 games, beating Eastern Oklahoma (4-0), Seminole State College (3-2) and North Eastern Oklahoma (4-2).
Redlands whose last defeat was in the hands of Murray State, will hope to pick inspiration from Nakirya’s form as they face off with Murray State College today (Sunday, October 22nd.
