The Disciplinary Panel of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has fined Kitara Football Club UGX 1,000,000 having been found guilty of fans hooliganism.
The development follows the fans misconduct during their FUFA Big League match played on 23rd February 2020 against Doves FC at Katusabe ground in Masindi.
In the aftermath of the match, visiting fans dismantled part of Katusabe perimeter fence near the technical area in protest of the officiating.
The rowdy fans threw stones and other dangerous objects towards match officials and also vandalized property.
The statement released by the Competitions Disciplinary Panel confirmed that Kitara has been slapped a fine worth One million and ordered to pay for any damages caused during the fracas.
“Startimes FUFA Big league side Kitara FC has been fined by the FUFA Disciplinary Panel after they were found guilty of hooliganism and Vandalism of property in game played at Katusabe Stadium against Doves FC that took place on 23rd February 2020,” part of the statement read.
The game ended 4-2 in favor of Kitara FC who sit top of the Rwenzori group with 22 points.
