Uganda Premier League | Match day 25
Tooro United 0-1 SC Villa
Faisal Muwawu’s sole effort was enough to see SC Villa complete the double over relegation-threatened Tooro United in a league match played on Saturday Fort-portal.
The reverse fixture at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole had ended 4-1 in favor of the Jogoos.
Muwawu headed Villa into the lead after 39 minutes when Tooro United’s custodian Michael Nantamu poorly spilled David Owori’s cross in the box.
Tooro United almost equalised through Yafesi Mubiru but Villa’s custodian, Keni Saidi superbly kept him out. That was their only threatening attempt in almost the entire match.
This was second consecutive match for Tooro United and the 15th of the entire season, remaining bottom locked on 22 points.
SC Villa now goes to 46 points in the 3rd position, four adrift of second-placed KCCA FC and eight below table leaders Vipers SC.
