Match Day 3 Result
Kumi 0-1 Uganda Christian University
Uganda Christian University (UCU) maintained their dominance at the top of group B after a slim 0-1 win against Kumi University as the Pepsi University Football League match day three kicked off in Kumi.
Ade Brian’s 17th minute penalty kick was enough to inspire the defending champions at the expense of Kumi on a sunny Wednesday afternoon.
Ade was brought down in the box by the host’s captain, Okure leaving referee Madanda Ronald with no other alternative but to point to the sport.
Kumi could have walked home with a point but Derrick failed to convert from 12-yards thanks to UCU goalkeeper, who stood heroic and parried away his efforts.
Kumi’s Andrew Omoding had been brought down in the box in the 50th minute putting the referee in the spotlight again.
The win takes UCU to seven points on top of Group B while Kumi University is yet to register any point, sitting on the bottom.
The University Football League action resumes today in another group B encounter when International University of East Africa (IUEA) hosts Kampala International University (KIU) in Mbale.
