Stanbic Uganda Cup | Round of 16

Dove FC vs KCCA – 4:00pm

DATE: Thursday 12th March, 2020

The Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 kicks off today in Masindi as 10-time champions KCCA FC visits Dove FC at Katusabe playground.

The round of 32 saw KCCA eliminate Bukedea Town Council 2-0 at Lugogo while Dove edged Water FC 2-1.

However, KCCA’s camp has been hit with major sidelines as lanky talisman, Mike Mutyaba and midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba who are both out with injuries.

Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, left back Mustafa Kizza, Samuel Kato, Herbert Achai and vice-captain, Julius Poloto are all away on national duty and will miss the tie.

Notably, Kizza has returned from Switzerland where he had a series of trials at second division side Luassane Sports Club, but remains away from club duty as he is also in the Cranes training camp.

In his absence, head coach Mike Mutebi has been fielding Eric Ssenjobe and he is expected to keep his place.

Youthful goalkeeper, Ali Mwerusi is likely to start in between the sticks ahead of Jamil Malyamungu who is no longer a darling to the gaffer.

Filbert Obenchan is expected to feature in the right back role with Samuel Kato and Ssenjobe form a back three.

Ibrahim Sadam Juma, Keziron Kizito, Simon Serunkuma, and Gift Ali Abubaker are all expected to line up in the midfield as Erisa Sekisambu, Sadat Anaku and Aliro Moses leads the line.

The winner between KCCA and Dove FC will progress to the quarter final stage of the 2019/2020 Championship.

The winner of this 46th edition goes on to represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup Championship next year.
