Stanbic Uganda Cup Result
Dove FC 0-1 KCCA
Youngster Sadat Anaku was on target as KCCA registered a slim 1-0 win over 10-man Dove FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16, on Thursday at Katusabe playground.
The KCCA Junior team graduate scored 12 minutes into the game following a swift pass by roving right back, Filbert Obenchan.
The hosts were reduced to ten minutes when team captain, Ivan Busingye got his matching orders for a malicious tackle on Sadam Ibrahim Juma.
“We have not played as we could have but we got the result we wanted. Our main aim is to win the Uganda cup and try to play an interesting game,” said KCCA coach Mike Hilary Mutebi in the post-match interview.
KCCA was mostly solid in defense throughout the entire 90 minutes with little glimpses of nervousness. Goalkeeper Ali Mwirusi made brilliant saves before Obenchan made a timely clearance to deny Robert Sekweyama’s charges.
KCCA Football Club becomes the first team to book a ticket for the round of 16 in this 46th edition of the Cup.
