With the suspension of all sports disciplines in the country because of the Covid-19 pandemic, different clubs have embarked on intense preparations for the next season.
With more five games left to the end of the 2019/2020 Uganda Premier League season, there will be limited time for player recruitment exercise hence clubs are now resorting to early preparations.
Relegation threatened side Tooro United Football Club is reportedly keen on signing Uganda Cranes and former KCCA FC midfielder Tony Mawejje.
Reports indicate that Tooro United’s director Alice Namatovu fronts Mawejje on the list of players the club is willing to recruit for the 2020/2021 season.
Mawejje previously featured for Police FC, KCCA FC and URA FC where he won the league title before playing professional football abroad.
Currently, the Uganda Cranes box to box midfielder is trading his talent at Kuwait side Al-Arabi SC, a side he joined on a two year deal in July 2019.
After 25 games, the Fort-portal based side sits on the bottom of the 16 team log, with 22 points. The club only has five matches left to fight for safety.
