Having failed on the first attempt in 2016 transfer window, Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg has reignited their pursuit to land Uganda Cranes forward Farouk Miya.
Following his stellar performance in the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, Red Bull was keen on Miya but the deal fell through.
Repirts indicate that the club has been monitoring Miya for some time now and is among their top targets, heading into the next campaign.
After the 2016 CHAN tournament, Red Bull reportedly tried to sign lanky forward who was a Vipers Sports Club player then, befor opting for Standard Liege in Belgium.
Currently at Turkish side, Konyaspor, the 2015 FUFA Most Valuable Player scored Five goals and managed one assist from his 20 appearances for the club.
He also had brief stints at Royal Excel Mouscron in Belgium (loan) and Sabail in Azerbaijan (loan) and HNK Gorica in Croatia before crossing to the Turkish outfit.
While donning the Uganda Cranes jersey, Miya has scored 12 goals and managed 3 assists in 39 appearances.
In case the deal materializes, he will become the second player to play for Red Bull Salzburg after Ibrahim Sekajja.
