Uganda National netball team (She Cranes) goal defender Lillian Ajio has officially retired from National team duty, ChimpReports can confirm.
Ajio has decided to hang up her boots following a long-term injury sustained during the 2019 Netball World Cup Championship in England, Liverpool.
Since the ugly incident, the devoted star has been neglected by the Uganda Netball Federation in facilitating her recovery process up to date, forcing her latest decision.
The Suzan Anek led federation has failed to respond to Ajio’s cry for financial help with her domestic club, Prisons partially footing the bill for her knee recovery.
During her time in National team colors, Ajio helped the She Cranes finish 7th and 8th in the 2015 and 2019 Netball World Cup tournaments.
Lillian Ajio will however remain an active player for her club side Prison upon full recovery.
In the latest rankings, the She Cranes were maintained their 6th position in the flobal rankings and 2nd slot on the African continent behind South Africa.
