13-time Uganda Premier League Champions KCCA Football Club has officially parted ways with goalkeeper Tom Ikara after a contract expiry.

Ikara joined KCCA FC in 2018 from Kirinya Jinja SS (now Busoga United) on a two-year contract but has been deemed surplus to the requirement.

Ikara who failed to beat stiff competition at the club, spent the 2019/2020 season on loan to Mbarara City.

While donning the yellow jersey, Ikara has managed to win one league title, Uganda Cup, Super Cup and the Pilsner Super 8.

URA FC has already expressed interest in the out-of-contract player while Mbarara City is also reportedly keen on retaining Ikara on a permanent basis.

He becomes the second player to have been officially released by the Kasassiro Boys after midfielder Jackson Nunda.

Left back Eric Ssenjobe made a transfer to Police FC while Kizza Mustafa completed his professional move to Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.

Veteran forward Mike Mutyaba announced his retirement while Muzamir Mutyaba and Sadam Juma are on the verge of departing the Lugogo based club for greener pastures.

However, KCCA has already signed five players in Italian Stefan Loro Mazengo, Bright Anukani, Ashiraf Mugume, Charles Lwanga and Dennis Iguma.

Also, attacking midfielder Pius Obuya was recruited but the club is yet to officially unveil him to the public with Mbarara City’s Brian Aheebwa consistently appearing on the team’s radar.
