Players Abroad: Derrick Nsibambi Snubs Cranes Duties For Smouha, Full-time Play for Mpande

After withdrawing from the Uganda Cranes squad camp in Dubai (citing an harm string injury), striker Derrick Nsibambi was surprisingly in league action over the weekend.

The former KCCA FC forward played the full 90 minutes as his Smouha side defeated Emmanuel Okwi’s Ittihad Alexandria 2-1 in the Egyptian Premier League on Friday.

This was his second consecutive game played after snubbing the National team duty having also played in the club’s defeat to Zamalek in the Egypt Cup last Monday.

In Vietnam, Moses Oloya featured full-time as his Hanoi FC side claimed a 2-0 victory against Ho Chi Minh City in the V League 1.

Elsewhere, Joseph Mpande also played full-time as his Hai Phong FC lost 1-0 to SHB-Đà Nẵng whilst Geoffrey Baba Kizito inspired Than Quảng Ninh to a 3-0 win over Becamex Bình Dương.

In Sweden, Patrick Mulyanti was in action as IFK Amal saw a 3-1 away defeat to Savedalens IF in the Swedish Division 2.

Still in Sweden, Viola Nambi came on as a second half substitute as her Vaxjo DFF side registered a 1-0 win over Piteä IF in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.

Inform Ritah Kivumbi played only 46 minutes before being substituted as Mallbacken IF DFF cruised to a 2-1 away win against Sandvikens in the Swedish Elitettan.
