Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry was left pleased by the just concluded Uganda Cranes camp in Dubai, insisting that it will not only be vital for the South Sudan doubleheader but in a long run as well.
McKinstry told FUFA media upon return from United Arab Emirates on Tuesday that the players did well not only on the field but in the classroom.
“Overall, am very pleased with the camp we have just completed in Dubai, it’s been a very worthwhile six-seven days,” Mckintsry told FUFA media.”
He added, “We have done a lot of good work not only on the field but in the classroom. And this is something you don’t often get to do international football (window) because it tends to be match after match where your focuss is on that opponent and not get much time to look at yourself on how to build for the long time.”
The Northern Irish furthermore lauded the players for having worked extremely hard in following Standard Operating Procedures and believes they will be very hungry to for the forthcoming Qualifiers if summoned again.
“The boys have worked extremely very hard, and we have also been able to follow Covid19 protocols as all our tests returned negative. There has been challenges everywhere, we saw the Guinea game called off,” he said.
“Its only a short time until November and I will be naming the squad in a couple of weeks and the guys will be back together and will be very hungry to get going again.” He concluded
Uganda Cranes (4 points) is in preparation for the forthcoming AFCON Qualifiers double-header ties against South Sudan in scheduled for November.
