Ocen Bags Brace as Police Defeat MYDA

MYDA FC 1-3 Police

Ben Ocen grabbed a brace while Eric Ssenjobe scored the other as Police handed Malabba Youth Development Association Football Club (MYDA FC) a bitter Uganda Premier League welcome on Tuesday.

The Cops sailed to an emphatic 1-3 away victory against MYDA who got their only goal at the King George IV Memorial stadium in Tororo through Ibrahim Nsimbe.

Ben Ocen scored the fastest goal so far for the new season in the first minute before left back Ssenjobe doubled the visitors’ lead 25 minutes later.

On the 36th minute mark, Ibrahim Nsimbe reduced the deficit when he beat custodian Tom Ikara for a consolation but Ocen stretched Police’s lead again with a 69th minute goal.

This was the first match for the league newbie MYDA who were meant to play Vipers Sports Club last Saturday but the latter was in Sudan for a CAF Champions League game against Al Hilal Omdurman.

Police which drew goalless with Wakiso Giants on day one, now has four points and will play away to Kitara at Kavumba recreation center on Saturday.

MYDA will on the other side host another downhearted club in Onduparaka at King George IV memorial stadium a day before.
