- KCCA FC 2-0 Mbarara City
KCCA Football Club maintained it’s perfect start to the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season after a 2-0 win against Mbarara City at the Phillip Omomdi stadium, Lugogo on Friday.
Sam Ssenyonjo was on target yet again for the Kasassiro Boys, scoring in his third consecutive game for the 13-time league winners. Defender Dennis Iguma netted the other.
The hosts came into the game at the back of a 1-2 away victory and an 8-0 home win against Soltilo Bright Stars and Onduparaka in their previous two opening games.
Depleted Mbarara City had drawn 1-1 with URA FC and lost 3-0 to Sports Club Villa and were aiming to get off the mark despite an improved side in the opening proceedings.
However, their resilience was broken in the 37th minute when defender Iguma nodded home a reflex header off a deflection on Ivorian defender Suleiman Bamba for KCCA’s opener.

The goal came as a result of a Moses Aliro free kick when he was fouled by Steven Okello before his delivery deflected against Bamba to meet a well-positioned Iguma.
On the 52nd minute mark, KCCA doubled their lead when Sam Ssenyonjo scored off a well laid corner kick, netting his fifth goal of the season.
Ssenyonjo has now scored in each of KCCA’s three games so far this season with a goal against Bright Stars (1-2) and a hat-trick against Onduparaka (8-0).
Victory saw KCCA FC maintain their grip on top of the log with 9 points in 3 games while Mbarara City FC are in 13th with just a point.
KCCA FC will play their next League game on Tuesday next week against SC Villa at Bombo Barracks playground while Mbarara City will on Wednesday play host to Express FC at Kakyeka stadium.
