Express Football Club first choice custodian Mathias Muwanga believes keeping as many cleen sheets will help them win silverware this season.
Muwanga had a mixed end to 2020, when he kept a clean sheet against SC Villa at Wankulukuku but then lost a baby, thankfully the wife made it, all this happening at the end of December.
Muwanga had a turbulent end to 2020, full of ups and downs.
“It’s been a rollercoaster for me, just when I thought I’d ended the year well with a clean sheet (1-0 win over SC Villa) I lost my baby soon after which was so sad thankfully my wife made it but I’ve managed to be strong all through, my club, teammates and family have helped me heal,” Muwanga told the club website.
He added, “My target is to maintain the clean sheets run, the more clean sheets, the more wins we shall get as a team therefore helping us achieve our target of winning silverware at the end of the season”.
Having missed the entire first round of the 2019/2020 season due to a back injury, he bounced back by keeping numerous clean sheets in the few games he played in.
The Red Eagles will be looking at ending URA FC’s unbeaten run when the league resumes in February after the CHAN tournament. The Tax collectors had managed three wins and two draws in five matches before the league went into a two-month break.
