Rwandan striker Kipson Atuhaire Joins Wakiso Giants

Uganda Premier League moneybags Wakiso Giants Football Club has acquired the services of Rwandan international Kipson Atuhaire.

Atuhaire joins the Purple Sharks as a free agent on a one-year contract having parted ways with Gokulam Kerala in India’s I-league.

He came through the ranks at 16-time UPL winners Sports Club Villa before switching to Uganda Revenue Authority. He also had brief stints in Cambodia and Malaysia.

Atuhaire will feature for Douglas Bamweyana’s side until January 2022 with an option to extend a further year basing on his performance.

Previously, the Purple Sharks were reportedly in pursuit for free agent striker Joel Madondo, formerly at Wydad Casablanca before the deal failed to materialize.

Wakiso Giants, currently positioned in the 10th position on five points is also reportedly in advanced talks with Uganda Hippos and former Proline striker Ivan Bogere.
