Forward Frank “Dube” Sebuufu starred with a brace as Buddu saw off Ssese 3-0 in the opening match of Muganzirwazza group at the FUFA Technical Center Njeru on Wednesday afternoon.
Titus Sematimba scored the other goal to complete the rout as the 2016 champions went off the mark in the in the last group of the 16th edition.
Lethal weapon Sematimba cut in from the left wing before putting off his three opponents in Ssese’s defense and squared the ball for Sebuufu who broke the deadlock after 40 minutes.
Three minutes later, Ssese had a clear cut chance to draw matters level following a penalty award by center referee Kasalirwe Lucky only for goalkeeper Sebanjja Yawe Farouk to thwart away Bukenya Ivan’s ball away.
25 minutes into restart, Kavuma Marvin met a Sematimba Titus through ball and beat his opponents on pace before poking home past goalkeeper Fred Bukenya for Buddu’s second.
In the 82nd minute, target man Sebuufu stretched Buddu’s lead to three when he looped the ball over helpless goalie Bukenya on the edge of the 18-yard box to complete his brace.
Victory guided Buddu to the top on three points going intoto their second match against Kabula on Friday. Ssese will play 4-time winners on the same day.
