Golf: 89 Confirm Participation for 2021 AFRIYEA Juniors Open

Over 89 participants have already confirmed participation in the maiden AFRIYEA Juniors open Golf championship that will take place at Toro Golf Club in Fort portal, Western Uganda.

The inaugural tournament will aim at showcasing the progress of the kids training in golf to their coaches, parents, guardians, coaches, Ambassadors and well-wishers.

Notably, the confirmed participants include Damian Asiimwe who produced the best scores in the previous two tournaments (Captains’ Prize and Basaliza at 95 years) in December last year where he was declared the overall winner.

Other participants are national team Juniors in Nsubuga Godfrey, Kasese Sports Club Juniors, Mbarara Sports Club Kids, Masindi Sports Club Kids and the AFRIYEA Golf Academy kids who will tussle it out in the one-day championship.

The AFRIYEA Juniors Golf Championship was initially scheduled to take place on the 22nd January but later postponed to a new date yet to be determined.

According to Isaiah Mwesige the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AFRIYEA Golf Academy, the tournament was pushed to a new date to enable kids feature in the Entebbe Juniors Golf Championship that was organized on the same date by Entebbe Golf Club.

The best performers will walk away with trophies and takeways.
