38 Summoned on Provisional Squad for AFCON U20

The Uganda Hippos head coach Morley Byekwaso has summoned 38 players to begin preparations for the forthcoming Total AFCON U20 Final tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Mauritania running from February 14th – 6th March 2021.

Among the summoned players is the UK based duo of Kitaka Samuel Moses (Loughborough University) and Odokonyero Nathan (Lincoln City) who will be making their maiden national team appearance.

The squad also has midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga and left back Aziizi Kayondo who are currently with the Uganda Cranes CHAN Team in Cameroon but will join the squad depending on Uganda’s performance at the tournament.

The players and officials are expected to report for official training (camp) on Wednesday 20th January 2020 and will reside at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi.

The squad of six goalkeepers, Nine defenders, twelve midfielders and eleven forwards will officially begin training on Thursday evening at the Omondi Stadium in Lugogo – Kampala.

Uganda qualified for the final tournament after winning the CECAFA U20 championship in Tanzania last year.
