Uganda National Netball team (She Cranes) head coach Rashid Mubiru has named the final squad of 12 players for the forthcoming test series in Cape Town, South Africa.
The final sqad of four shooters, three mid-court players and five defenders was revealed on Monday with Stella Oyella named team captain while Irene Eyalu will assume the vice captaincy role.
The She Cranes will face South Africa’s Spar Proteas in a three-match test series in Cape Town between 24th to 31st March, games that will have a bearing on the team’s International Netball Federation (INF) ranking.
Uganda, currently ranked 7th in the world, should be among the top 12 to book an automatic slot for the U-21 netball team in the Commonwealth Games whose qualification (based on rankings).
The squad will depart on Friday 19th March for Cape Town along with seven officials headed by Suzan Anek, the Uganda Netball Federation president and Annet Kisomose (General secretary).
