Uganda Cranes second assistant coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi has returned to Uganda Premier League entity Mbarara City Football Club, barely two years since his departure.
The experienced tactician who returns to the Ankole Lions’ dugout for the second stint, has penned a one and half year contract replacing Uganda Cubs assistant coach Brian Sennyondo.
Mbabazi left the Kakyeka based outfit in May 2019 before joining Onduparaka FC in Arua where he had a brief tenure. He also coached Wakiso Giants and Kyetume all featuring in the top tier.
He has been club-less since his sacking at Kyetume last month following a string of poor results. He registered two wins, five draws and three defeats in the 10 games he managed for the Slaughters.
At Mbarara City, he will be deputized by Sadiq Sempigi who has been serving as an interim coach while Yusuf Senyonjo has been appointed as his second assistant.
Mbabazi’s timely return hands him a first home test against Jinja based side BUL FC on Wednesday evening as the first round of the League climaxes with Match-Day 15.
