National Basketball League side Kampala International University (KIU) Titans are leaving no stone unturned in the ongoing transfer window after acquiring Samuel Agutu.
The 6’4 forward rejoins KIU Titans from Betway Power on a two-year deal.
“I feel like this is home for me because I have played here for almost seven years from high school to the time I left. I didn’t play much for the last two years so this is kind of a new start for me,” Agutu said.
The forward was part of the Titans Basketball team that reached the National Basketball League finals in 2017 and says the goal is now to win it all.
“I bring the same energy and more. Whatever the team will ask of me is what I will do. 2017 was more of unfinished business for us,our goal was to reach the finals but now it’s to win it all,” he added.
Agutu, whose first spell with KIU Titans was from 2013 to 2018, joins Oscar Muge and Dennis Balungu as new signings.
Earlier this week, the “Pride of Kansanga” (KIU Titans) confirmed the release of three star players in Sudi Ulanga (Tanzania), Denis Balungu (DRC) and Ettiene Kazungu (DRC).
The Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) set 2nd April, 2021 as the tentative kickoff date for the National Basketball League season.
