Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) will on Saturday 27th March head to the polls for an elective general assembly at the Nakawa Pentecostal Church to usher in a new leadership executive committee.
The Federation elective congress will be graced by high profile personalities headlined by Liberia Chess Federation president William telebo Wilson.
Telebo who doubles as the assistant minister of energy in Liberia touched base in the Pearl of Africa on Thursday and is currently residing at the magnificent Hotel Africana in Kampala.
ChimpReports understands Wilson came to support Eng. Emmanuel Mwaka who is in the race to reclaim the chess federation presidency since both sit on the executive board of the world governing body, FIDE.

• Kawuma Patrick won a silver medal in the zone 4.2 chess championship held in Jimma – Ethiopia.
• Haruna Nsubuga won a bronze medal in the zone 4.2 chess championship held in Jimma – Ethiopia.
• Amoko Ivy won a silver medal in the Zone 4.2 chess championship held in Jimma – Ethiopia.
• Nakanyike Maria won a Silver medal at Africa Schools Individual Chess Championship in Harare- Zimbabwe.
• Nabuyondo Peace Naomi won a Bronze medal at 2017 Africa Individual schools chess Championship.
• Nakabo Peninah won a Gold medal at the 2017 Africa armature chess championship held in livingstone-Zambia.
2018 list
• Kanyike victor won a silver medal at the 2018 Africa youth chess Championship held in Kisumu – Kenya.
• Nakabo Peninah won a bronze medal at the 2018 World armature chess championship held in Italy.
• Nakanyike Maria won a Silver medal at the 2018 Africa Juniors chess Championship held in Kampala- Uganda.
• Wasswa Sharif Mbazira won a bronze medal at the U20 world chess championship for the disabled held in New- Jersey in the United States of America (USA).
• Mwesigye John Denis won a bronze medal during the U20 world chess championship for the disabled held in New- Jersey USA.
2019 list
• FM Wanyama Harold won a bronze medal at the 2019 All Africa Games held in Rabat –Morocco.
• A total of 23 medals were won at the Africa Schools individual chess championship by several school going children in Uganda. Making Uganda the overall champions of the 2019 continental schools event.
• A total of 6 team gold medals and one individual Gold medal were won by the U16 youth team Uganda at the U16 zonal 4.4 chess championship held in Nairobi Kenya that saw the team get a fully paid trip to the U16 chess Olympiad in the process.
• Wasswa Sharif Mbazira and John mwesigye Denis won silver medals at the U20 world chess Championship for the disabled.
• Ssegwany Arthur and Haruna Nsubuga won bronze and silver medals respectively at the Zone 4.2 chess championship held in Mombasa- Kenya.
• Amoko Ivy won a gold medal at the 2019 zone 4.2 chess championship held in Mombasa- Kenya. Other medals were won in the Blitz and Rapid of the same event.
The elective annual general meeting will as well be graced by representatives from the National Council of Sports (NCS).
