13-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA Football Club have parted ways with tactician Mike Hillary Mutebi on mutual consent.
Mutebi who has been at the helm of the Lugogo based side for the last five years, sees the exit door after series of unconvincing results registered in the first round of the 2020/21 season.
“KCCA FC and the Manager, Mike Hillary Mutebi have today, the 29th of March 2021 agreed by mutual consent to terminate his employment with immediate effect.”
“The Club recognizes his immense contribution in making KCCA FC the leading Club in Uganda and wishes him well in his future endeavors,” read part of the club statement released on Monday evening.
During his stint with the Kasassiro Boys, he attained three league titles, two Uganda Cups, four Super Cups and one CECAFA Club, making him the most successful manager in the club’s history.
The club has henceforth confirmed that his deputy “Morley Byekwaso takes charge of all first team duties as the Interim manager immediately.”
Mutebi registered eight wins, three draws and four defeats in the first round of the season, leaving KCCA FC in 4th position on 27 points.
KCCA will play host to BUL FC on Friday 2nd April at the MTN Omondi Stadium which will serve as Byekwaso’s first game in charge.
