Stanbic Uganda Cup holders Proline will play against MYDA in this year’s round of 32 stage. The face-off was confirmed during the draws conducted on Tuesday morning at the FUFA House, in Mengo.
FUFA Deputy CEO in charge of Football, Humphrey Mandu and FUFA Competitions director Hajjat Aisha Nalule were flanked by Stanbic Bank Head of Marketing and Communication, Daniel Odong during the draw.
Proline that clinched championship in the 2018/2019 season, will host MYDA in the first leg at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo before the return leg tie between 5th and 13th April 2021.
To clinch the crown, Proline edged Soltilo Bright Stars (5-4) via penalty shootouts after a one-all draw in the normal time at the Masaka Recreation playground.
Elsewhere, 10-time winners KCCA FC and Express FC have been pitted against Nyamityobora and Kyetume while Vipers SC will host Busoga United at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Nine-time champions Sports Club Villa will host Ndejje University at the Bombo barracks playground while Police will welcome Calvary at Lugogo.
The 46th edition (2019/2020) was ended prematurely following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. This year’s final is slated for be July 24th at a yet to be confirmed venue.
The winner of the Uganda Cup will represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup.
