The first ever Uganda Premier League club symposium climaxed successfully at the Fufa technical center in Njeru near Jinja.
The two day event started on 19-20 March and was organized by the football federation Fufa, Fufa Super League Limited (FSLL), Uganda Premier League secretariat and was attended by club CEO’s, chairmen, coaches and other stakeholders in the game.
Participants discussed on a wider range of proposed developments to improve the game both in short run and others spanning up to ten years. The main objective of the symposium was to help clubs find a way to formulate and implement 10-year development plans and the route to professional football status.
Fufa president Eng. Moses Magogo who is also a Fifa instructor led the team in discussing and brainstorming the 11 aspects of the Fufa Clubs Pro Agenda (FCPA).
The topics range from club structures, finances, medical, facilities, stadiums, youth set up, marketing, fans mobilization and organization, communication and event management.
The participants were tasked to come up with ideas and suggestions to be compiled into one document that will be used as a guiding tool for the clubs to follow.
“It is a privilege that I am president of Fufa at a time like this when people congregate in a room like this to discuss football development, planning for ten years. I want to ask you to guard jealously the outcome of this symposium; that is the document we will generate,” Fufa president Eng. Moses Magogo said at the closure of the two at event.
