Sadolin Paints 0-2 SC Villa
Sports club Villa earned their first win this season after making light work over Sadolin Paints on match day two of the Azam Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.
New recruit Vitalis Tabu and skipper Mike Sserumaga scored in either half for SC Villa to scoop all three points at Kyabazinga stadium Bugembe.
SC Villa dominated right from start with Tabu causing havoc to the painter’s defence and could put the Jogoos in the lead just after eleven minutes but was denied by the woodwork.
His continuous runs off the left paid off dividends in the 35th minute when Ambrose Kiirya laid him up before rounding off the goalkeeper to fire into an empty net.
Sadolin Paints opted to bring on Fred Kyambadde for Allan Oryek after recess but he too failed to break through Villa’s solid defence.
Sserumaga who missed a penalty against Police last week doubled the lead for the visitors in the 63rd minute from a well-executed free kick.
Deo Sserwadda the SC Villa coach who was impressed with the team’s performance believes the result will give the squad momentum.
“We played well, I would not say we played to perfection but the result is good for us to get momentum in the upcoming games,” he said.
On the other hand, Peter Kirumira, the Sadolin coach thinks his team was wasteful.
“We failed to utilise the chances we got and they (SC villa) penalised us,” said Kirumira.
The result means Sadolin Paints remain on one point in two games while SC Villa move to four points.
