SC Villa Unveil Two Foreign Players

Uganda Premier League giants Sports club Villa are far from ending the recruitment spree after the club unveiled two new foreign players on Wednesday at Villa Park.

The 16 – time league winners after signing close to a dozen of players before the start of the season have added Brazilian midfielder Francá Tiago Lino Alves and Burundian forward Faudi Ndayisenga to bolster their squad both joining on a one year deal.

Midfielder Tiago, who usually operates on the left wing despite being right footed joins the Jogoos from Associacao Desportiva Recreativo e Cultural commonly known as   Icasa who play in Serie D of the Campeanato Brasileiro league. The 26 year old played 12 games for Icasa last season but did not score a single goal.

Tiago said he was pleased to join SC Villa and hopes the club will help him become a better player.

“I’m happy to join SC Villa. It is my first time in Africa and a new challenge ahead of me but I believe I will settle in early and become a resourceful player to the club,” said Tiago.

On the other hand, stocky forward Faudi Ndayisenga joins Villa from Kenyan Premier league outfit Sofapaka. Ndayisenga who has played on the Burundian national team since 2008 believes the experience he has got from playing in Rwanda, Burundi and Kenya will help him shine in the  Uganda premier league.

“I have played in Burundi, Kenya and Rwanda so I have garnered enough experience to help me play here and I’m looking forward to that,” he said.

Ndayisenga began his career at Vital’O club in Burundi in 2006 before crossing over to Rwanda in 2008 joining APR. He later moved Kiyovu Sports between 2009- 2011. From Kiyovu,Ndayisenga moved to Rayon Sport where he played for four years before joining Sofapaka in Kenya in 2015.

The other players that Sc villa have signed this season include Bernard Muwanga and Joseph Nsubuga (both from Bright stars), Ayub Kiisalita(Lweza),Yasin Mugabi(KCCA),Michael Owinya(Kyambogo ), Swalidad (Arua all stars), Abdumalik Vitalis Tabu(Onduparaka), Alex “Benzema” Kitaata (The Saints), Francis Mayiga and Edward Kawooya from (Bussunju) and Brian Mugume(Busiro)

SC Villa are second on the Azam Uganda premier league table collecting seven points in three games and just two points shy of league leaders KCCA who have nine.
