The introduction of Kirinya Jinja SS FC in the topflight meant that fans from the lakeside town will now enjoy twelve derbies spread in the two rounds.
Already three have been played but all ended goalless and on Friday, Sadolin Paints FC will host Jinja Municipal at Bugembe.
The two have faced off twice in competitive games both last season. Jinja Municipal won 3-0 in the first leg with Kakande Herbert blasting his debut goal at JMC from over 20 yards and second half double from Mustapha Mugoya.
The return leg left JMC in their own shadow dropping an early 16th minute lead through Wandyaka to succumb 2-1. Allan Oryek and Ronald Lukungu both struck beauties in the respective halves.
Sadolin come from a 2-1 victory over tax collectors URA FC, goals courtesy of Nasser Muzamir and Norman Ogik.
Coach Musafiri hints at maintaining his winning squad though his goal poacher Muzamiru is out with a sprained ankle. He scored and assisted the second for Ogik who started from the bench.
“We want to retain our winning formula to be build on a better season henceforth. Last season we defeated them here and intend to do it again this time round though it won’t be that easy being a derby and they’re also searching for a maiden win,” Musafiri told ChimpSport.
Jinja Municipal Hippos unveiled experienced coach George William Lutaalo on Thursday and he warned his players to perform if they’re to fit in his team.
“I want discipline and hard work, everyone must prove to me why they should be in my next lineups, so we’ll go for a straight win. Expect some few adjustments in the squad after my assessments together with the other coaches,” Lutaalo said.
The game comes too early for Paul Emenyu who is still nursing a thigh injury.
The painters are 14th with five points, three ahead of their opponents who lie rock bottom.
