Cranes Star Abel Dhaira’s Body Repatriated to Uganda

The remains of the fallen Uganda Cranes goalie Abel Dhaira finally landed at the Entebbe international Airport in the wee hours of Sunday morning (2:55 am) aboard a Turkish airline plane.

The departed hero was received by his family led by the father Bright Dhaira and Fufa officials including the first vice president Justus Mugisha who is among the five members of the planning committee.

The body was received and will be handled by professional funeral management service company A-plus.

Later on the deceased’s body will be taken to All Saints Cathedral church for a mass service and public viewing at the war memorial stadium in Nakivubo.

He will be taken to Jinja where he will spend a night at their home in Walukuba East Block 11.

On Monday the body will be taken for another public viewing at Tobacco stadium, now Abel Dhaira Memorial Stadium, before holding the final church service at the All Saints Church Walukuba.

On Tuesday, the body will be taken to Busoga kingdom Lukiiko in Bugembe and later to Mayuge for burial on Wednesday.

The lanky goalkeeper passed away on Easter Sunday in a hospital in Iceland after losing a cancer battle.

He died at the age of 28.
