The race for a ticket to the Russia 2018 World Cup continues this weekend across Africa with all the twenty teams in contention.
There are five groups (A-E) with four teams each but only the top teams will make the cut by the end of the campaign.
Group A
DR Congo and Tunisia lead the group following their victories over Libya and Guinea on match day one but the central African side perch on the summit thanks to a superior goal difference.
They travel to Conakry to play Guinea on Sunday, two days in search of their first global appearance since 1974.
Tunisia heat the plane to a neutral ground Algiers against Libya on Friday.
Group B
After defeating Uganda at Namboole in a friendly, Zambia’s Chipolopolo real test awaits in Limbs Cameroon where they will be hoping to turn around their boat and pick maximum points.
The team lost 2-1 to Nigeria in Ndola last month and are at the brink of falling out of the race as early as the third game.
Cameroon fought hard to pick a point against Africa best ranked team Algeria in North Africa.
Algeria commonly known the desert warriors sacked coach Rajevac Milovan after the draw with the Indomitable Lions and appointed Belgian Georges Leekens whose first task is away to Nigeria in Uyo.
Group C
On paper, Ivory coast are the favorites to book the slot and indeed they lead group with three points from a 3-1 over Mali in day one.
Their next task is on Saturday at the Marrakech stadium in Morocco versus the Atlas Lions who drew blanks with Gabon last month. Mali host Gabon.
Group D
South Africa and Senegal meet in their eighth clash in two decades with the Bafana in a dwindling form where they have won only one of their last six competitive games on top of failing to qualify for Afcon 2017.
The Mashaba coached side host a team that qualified to Gabon with a perfect record and are on a six match winning streak. Burkina Faso are home to Cape Verde in the other game.
Group E
Three of the four in this group meet again in Afcon 2017. This is the last international assignments for them before taking the flight to Gabon.
Egypt lead the group following their 2-1 win in Congo while Ghana and Uganda shared spoils in Tamale.
Egypt take on the Black Stars in a second world cup qualifier between the two, the first in the 2014 race ended in a 6-1 humiliation for the Pharaohs.
Uganda and Congo play out on Saturday at Namboole.
