Kireka United head coach, Ayub Khalifa has blamed the loss to Masavu on the team’s failure to convert the chances they had.

Khalifa believes his team deserved at least a point against Masavu but confessed his players were wasteful on the day.

“We played well and believe we gave them a hard time but at the end that doesn’t count if you fail to pick good result,” said Khalifa.

“It is a bit unfortunate that we lost given the chances we had. If we had put some of them to use we would have picked at least point,” he added.

Khalifa who also doubles as the Kawempe Muslim coach in the Fufa Women elite league is however, optimistic his team will bounce back very soon.

“We shall go back and address the mistakes we had today and hope to recover in a short period,” he stated.

Goals from Masavu’s Kenneth Tumusiime and Charles Odeke condemned Kireka United to their fourth loss this season despite Timothy Kiguli pulling one back for the visitors.

Kireka United remain 7th on the table in the Rwenzori group on 12 points in 10 games and are now eight points behind logo leaders Masavu who have 20 points.
