Beach Soccer League: St Lawrence, YMCA End First Round on a High

YMCA and St Lawrence University are leading their respective groups as the 2017 Pepsi National Beach Soccer League entered recess after an eventful first round.

Both sides recorded commendable victories on Sunday in the last fixtures of round one hosted at the Lido Beach Resort in Entebbe.

Faisal Muwawu hit a trebble to add on Ambrose Naturinda’s goal for YMCA as they overcame IUEA in an eight goal thriller. The win lifts YMCA to 15, three points clear off Nkumba select who lost 6-2 to MUBS.

IUEA stretched their losing streak to six from a similar number of games.

Muteesa 1 Royal university cut the points with Nkumba select to level with their 3-1 hard fought win over Talented. Hassan Ali Luboyera struck a brace while Allan Kasozi found the consolation for Talented at the same time gift the scholars with an own goals.

Hurriken.
In the Hurriken group, St. Lawrence University maintained their perfect record in the league with their seventh straight win in an impressive 5-0 drubbing of minnows Mengo hospital.

Sulaiman Ochero, Raymond Mulungi, Emmanuel Kalyowa   and Maurice Luyima were all on target for the scholars. The medics reigetered their seventh loss in the league from seven outings.
