Mapinduzi Cup defending champions URA FC from Uganda have confirmed a list of 18 players that will be travelling to Zanzibar for this year’s edition.
According to the club media, the contingent will depart for the Island on Wednesday 28th December via road using Spider bus.
Club Technical Director, Mr. Geoffrey Kyondo will lead the contingency that also has a total of nine team officials.
Head coach Kefa Kisala expressed contentment with the trip and argued that it will help the club prepare for the gruesome second round.
“I’m delighted that URA FC confirmed this tournament, it will help our players get more exposure, competitiveness and also keep them active ahead of second round of the league.” Kisala Kefa was quoted by club media.
The champions commence their title defense on New Year’s day with locals KVZ FC before tussling out with Jang’ombe Boys, Simba and Taifa Jang’ombe on 3rd, 5th and 7th.

Club goalie Mathias Muwanga has been left out of the travelling party to recover well from a hip injury.
Former Onduparaka first choice Alionzi Nafian Legason and Veteran goalie Allan Owiny will contest for the gloves.
Club assistant coach James Odoch is not among the travelling squad but goalkeeping trainer Sadiq Waswa has been called in to fill the void.
