
Proline’s creative midfielder Gift Ali has indicated that the win they got against Onduparaka on Tuesday was a big step in their bid to fend off relegation.
Ali popularly referred to as “Gigi” believes that as a team, they need to pick results consistently to guarantee their stay in the Uganda Premier League.
“It was a very crucial game for us, we gave in our best effort and managed to walk away with victory,” he said.
“I believe we need more of such performances and results in the coming games to make sure we are safe from relegation,” he added.
Ali who was the captain in the absence of Simon Mbaziira conceded it was a tough game but the resilience they had helped them win the game.
‘It was a tough game, an end to end encounter and I believe the fans enjoyed. I think we were more determined and that’s why we went ahead to win,” he stated.
Gift Ali scored Proline’s opening goal in the 14th minute before David Owori and Nelson Ssenkatuka added the other for Mujib Kasule’s charges to win 3-1.
The victory meant, Proline moved from 13th to 9th position on the league table with19 points.
