Buzz Pirates 20-13 Hima Cement Heathens
Heathens attempts to go the entire season unbeaten were brought to a halt after falling to Buzz Pirates.
After sealing the title last weekend, Hima Cement Heathen’s only target was to make sure they finish the season without defeat.
However, Buzz Pirates put up an incredible performance to claim victory in the game played at the Legends rugby grounds on Friday.
Conrad Wanyama scored a penalty inside the opening five minutes to give Pirates the lead.
Aaron Ofoirwoth leveled matters with a conversion before Pirates surged up to regain the lead.
Ronald Tumusiime made the game’s first try and Wanyama stepped up to make the conversion and Bobby Musinguzi’s charges led 13-03.
Despite bringing on Asuman Mugerwa at the start of the second period, Pirates who upset Betway Kobs last weekend held on to hand Heathens their first defeat.
Heathens sealed the 2016/17 league title with a 26-17 victory against Rhinos last weekend.
