Uganda’s leading steel products manufacturer Roofings limited have partnered with Sports club Vipers as their stadium sponsors.

Vipers have agreed terms with Roofings limited on a two year deal worth UGX 500M as the stadium sponsors of the newly built St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

While unveiling the sponsorship package on Saturday at Golf Course hotel in Kampala, Roofings  Executive Director, Oliver  Lalani indicated that it is the right time to join a great team like Vipers.

“There is no better time than this when sports in Uganda is growing at a faster rate,” he said.

“It is a good move for us because we join Vipers, one of the leading football teams in Uganda,” Lalani added.

Lalani also indicated that as Roofings, they believe in social development which is equally what Vipers are doing.

“We believe in social development that is why we employ over 1000 workers,”

“Equally, football attracts a great following and that’s why we are joining Vipers,” he added.

Vipers club Patron, Lawrence Mulindwa thanked Roofings and promised to keep the partnership.

“It is historical that we get a new sponsor as we unveil our new stadium,” he said.

“We want to thank Roofings Limited for the sponsorship. I want to assure you that you won’t regret the marriage with us,” Mulindwa indicated.

“It is our role as Vipers to make sure that we protect the new marriage by doing the right things and being accountable,” he added.

The sponsorship package will come into two equal amounts with Roofings remitting UGX 250M per year.

Roofings become the second sponsor for the Kitende based side already having a three year shirt sponsorship deal with Hima Cement.

St. Mary’s stadium becomes the third local stadium to have a sponsor after Onduparaka’s Greenlight stadium (Bet Way) and KCCA’s Phillip Omondi stadium (Star times).
